THUPPAKKI WOULD DELAY - THE TRUTH BEHIND MURUGADOSS AND THUPPAKKI

A couple of days ago, Tamil media was abuzz with news that Murugadoss has dropped Thuppakki. Vijay fans also reacted sharply to Murugadoss’ announcement. However, looks like Murugadoss was misquoted because he has not said that the project is shelved (for now at least).

An avid twitteratti, Murugadoss often provides updates to his followers on the daily happenings of his projects and his opinion about things in general. Following the FEFSI strike that has paralyzed Tamil cinema’s work recently, Murugadoss tweeted that he has stalled Thuppakki until further notice. While, this could mean that Murugadoss has no intention to go back to Thuppakki, it can also be interpreted that the delay is temporary and that the movie will be kickstarted as soon as FEFSI returns back to work. We hope it’s only the latter.

Vijay's Thuppaki grabbed

One of the most awaited films of the year is Thuppaki starring Vijay and directed by AR Murugadoss. Vijay has been on a winning streak in recent times and Nanban has further consolidated his position as one of the leading stars in the industry. Consequently, there is a huge buzz surrounding Thuppaki as Murugadoss is also on a high, career - wise after 7aum Arivu.

Gemini Film Circuits have bought Thuppaki for an astronomical figure and they are very happy with their acquisition. The makers feel that it is a sure draw at the box office and that the script is such that Vijay with his repertoire of skills will be showcased perfectly.

Akon to smack it in Vijay's 'Thupaki'?

'Thupaki' is indeed becoming bigger with each passing day what with all the big names associated with the film. The latest is that international artist Akon of 'Smack that...' fame will venture into Tamil cinema by crooning a number in Ilayathalapathy Vijay's 'Thupaki'! His earlier offering, 'Chammak Challo...' for SRK's 'Ra.One' set a rage in our country.

It's almost official that Akon will be singing one song in this album and it is said that it will be recorded shortly in Chennai following which the makers will announce it. The makers are keen on making this single track a super hit and want to market it aggressively post the release of the music album of 'Thupaki'.

The film will be an action loaded entertainer and has Kajal Aggarwal as the lead lady. It already has big names associated with it for the cast and crew and roping in Akon for a track is only going to make 'Thupaki' bigger than ever!

Sources said the film is presently being shot on the streets of Mumbai by ace cinematographer Santosh Sivan.
Also, Murgadoss has been raving about the star, his style and dedication.




It is said Vijay is up early in the morning for the shoot which goes on till late in the evening. They are shooting on actual locations, where shooting has to be completed on time, as crowd control gets out of hand.




The only break the actor took was to fly to Coimbatore after a hectic shoot in the morning to attend 'Nanban' audio launch in the evening.

Vijay is all busy

Flush with the success of his Deepavali release 'Velayudham', Vijay is gearing up to shoot for his next 'Thuppaki' to be directed by A R Murugadoss. Interestingly, the movie commenced in Mumbai.

However, the crew is tightlipped about the identity of the heroine.

The movie brings together Murugadoss and Vijay for the first time. Buzz is that Harris Jeyaraj is scoring the music.
Vijay reportedly plays an action-packed role and rumours are abuzz that he is donning the khakhi for the movie.

Soon after completing the film, Vijay is expected to start work for Goutham Menon's 'Yohan: Mudhalam Athiyayam'. It is said to be an action-thriller that would be shot abroad.

Vijay seems to be on a roll now with Velayudham doing well at the box-office, his fans are now eagerly awaiting his next Thuppaki.

Meanwhile Vijay has thanked his fans and well-wishers for making Velayudham a big hit. He thanked director Jayam Raja and the entire unit for making the movie count at the box office.
